ANTI-PIGMENTATION PROGRAMME

THE SKIN PHARMACY uses mainly over-the-counter products formulated by ourselves to help treat pigmentation. We use ingredients that have already been demonstrated to be safe and effective. It needs to be stressed that it is not only the ingredients that need to be effective. The formulation also needs to be properly formulated to ensure that the ingredients will penetrate the skin and also that it will produce results. Many products do not work although they contain the proper ingredients due to poor formulation.

We also avoid ingredients that simply take too long to work. Examples are products containing vitamin C and liquorice. They usually take a few months to see results and most people become disappointed with the products after a few weeks.

For stubborn hyperpigmentation and for faster action, we use a high dose, concentrated Intensive Whitening Serum that is designed for fast effects. However, for people with sensitive skin, we use the Herbal Whitening Serum which is milder for the skin. We also have a Natural Whitening Cream that is light and mild on the skin and is more suitable for all over face treatment to get an even skin tone. We also have a simple and fuss free program consisting of a Brightening Facial Wash and a Whitening Treatment Toner that also helps to exfoliate and renew the skin to enhance the lightening process.

And protection from the sun is equally important in the treatment of hyperpigmentation. We either recommend the Natural Sunscreen or the Silky Smooth Sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 to 50 depending on the duration of sun exposure.
